Synopsis: In a future drained of colour, Oscar and his ailing husband struggle with a cruel and hierarchical medical system where energy credits are the new currency. When a hospital visit reveals a zero credit balance, Oscar must join the human generators and physically power Alex’s treatment himself. But as his energy fades, so does the possibility of a future together.
About the Filmmaker: Georgie is an award-winning British/Irish writer and director. Selected as a BAFTA Connect member “in recognition of her contribution to the film industry and her promising career ahead”. She has been commissioned by BBC, NI Screen and BFI, with her films screening in competition at BAFTA /BIFA qualifying film festivals. Her films were described as “the breath of a fresh, bold new voice” (South London Film Festival) and her writing as “original, imaginative, distinct” (Sister Pictures). She has been commissioned by major artists to direct music promos and was recently asked to join Academy award-winning Slick Film’s talent roster. In 2020, her eco-pilot screenplay was shortlisted for the Richard Curtis and Global Action Plan’s ‘Flickers of the Future’ and since then she has been working across a series of projects aimed at approaching the climate crisis in a human and urgent way. With her background in film theory, literature and historical research, she loves to create stories that speak to the present with nods to the past.
