Synopsis: Alone in a laundromat at night, two strangers realize they’ll never see each other again and decide to trade secrets.
About the Filmmaker: Born and raised in Paris, Sarah Nocquet is a French-American screenwriter and director working in London, New York, and Paris. An NYU Tisch Film & TV graduate, she writes and directs quiet psychological thrillers in which women question their identity, and enjoys toying with irony and absurdism in tense settings. Her short psychological thriller Speed Queen 51 starring Rory Culkin recently had its world premiere at Palm Springs Shortfest 2024. Her horror short film Open won her a Best Directing award at NFFTY 2019, and her sci-fi feature screenplay Second Nature made finalist at the 2023 Stowe Story Labs. Her latest short film is 5min dramedy Decoy starring Lia Williams, planning a festival premiere in 2025. Sarah works as a screenwriter and assistant director— recent projects include feature biopic screenplays for NYC-based Intrinsic Value Films and Paris-based Kaiwo Studio, and assistant directing feature film Worry Time written by and starring Emma Paetz.
