Synopsis: Bonnie, a 17-year-old girl, arrives at Mr. Roach’s eerie house to apply for a cleaning job, armed with a forged CV. To her surprise, Mr. Roach hires her on the spot. But as Bonnie begins working, she uncovers dark secrets hidden in the house, realising she’s in way over her head with her seemingly innocent employer.
About the Filmmaker: Angelica E. Gayle is a writer, director, producer and actor who trained at the BRIT School from 2018-2020, receiving a UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts. She joined the BFI Film Academy in 2019 and was later picked out of hundreds of applications to join the BFI Future Skills Programme in partnership with Lucasfilm. Subsequently, Angelica earned her first screen credit on James Mangold’s INDIANA JONES & THE DIAL OF DESTINY as a Script Trainee. She has also worked on other high budget feature films in various departments with companies like Netflix, Working Title Films, Apple TV and Warner Brothers. Angelica has also worked at the prestigious boutique agency Lark Management as an assistant to Harriet Pennington Legh and Sophie Dolan. In January 2024, Angelica founded None of the Above Media, writing, directing and producing her debut short film ROACH, with the support of graduates of the National Film & Television School. When she is not producing short form content, Angelica can be found developing the work of John le Carré as a Development Assistant at the Ink Factory Films spearheaded by Stephen and Simon Cornwell.
