Synopsis: In the Madre de Dios region of the amazon, Ese’Eja teenage boy Jefry and his friend Samuel decide to move to the port city of Maldonado to study. However, upon arrival, they find themselves caught in a state of post-adolescent ambiguity, where their sense of self-worth is consistently undermined. In order to grow up, Jefry needs to find a way out.
About the Filmmaker: Zeyu Wang is an independent filmmaker from China. He has been writing and directing multiple projects ranging from narratives to experimental films. His short film has been selected and awarded globally in multiple film festivals including Tampere film festival, ÉCU film festival. In 2022, he joined the Apichatpong Weerasethakul Lab and shot his latest short film ‘Juguemos en el bosque mientras que el lobo está’ (2023), and is now on its distribution.
