About the Filmmaker: Kate is a writer, director and producer with her BFA in Theatre from Boston University. Her first short film, MISS PATTI, won the Jury Award for comedic excellence at the Savannah film festival and has been acquired for international distribution. Her short film script HOW DID I GET HERE was accepted into the TRIBECA Through Her Lens program. She co-founded female-driven production company Queen’s Gambit Films. Their most recent short film won the audience award at SXSW. As a filmmaker, Kate is drawn towards subjects that people don’t normally like to talk about. She tells stories that disarm with humor while ultimately challenging audiences to examine themselves. She loves to live in the gray.
