Synopsis: In the late 90s, Emilie, a 17-year-old girl, lives with her mother in the suburbs of Paris. One evening, she goes with her best friend to a neighborhood party several kilometers away from their home. Her father is supposed to pick them up. However, upon arriving, he discovers a crowd that doesn’t suit him and explodes in anger. He will only take Emilie home. Worried about her friend, she decides to go back and fetch her. With the help of her mother, she will spend part of the night trying to find her. This event will be an opportunity for her to reassess her relationship with her father.
About the Filmmaker: Trained as an actress, Magali performs on stage and screen in various genres. She started writing sketches during open mic nights at Théâtre Trévise (FEALD), then progressed to longer formats when she joined the Palmade workshops in 2014. Eventually, she ventured into writing plays. “Tirée par les cheveux” (Hard to Swallow) is her first screenplay. In addition to acting and writing, she directed her first play at the National Theatre of Monrovia, Liberia, in 2010 and repeated the experience in France from 2012 onwards. She regularly provides an outside perspective for various theater and circus projects.
