Synopsis: In reverence to the British paintings that watch over her from inside a desolate stately home, a young Pakistani girl aspires to become the perfect upper-class lady.
About the Filmmaker: Aqsa Arif is a Scottish/Pakistani interdisciplinary artist and emerging filmmaker based in Glasgow, graduating Glasglow School of Art in 2019. Her work explores the narrative of her psychological experience of re-settlement in the western culture, identity disruption and the process of healing through archetypal self-individuation, manifesting through surreal fantasy and fictional worldbuilding. She has shown work at the Royal Scottish Academy, Jupiter Artland and Gallery of Modern Art.
