Synopsis: Born into a world where the word ‘transgender’ didn’t exist, 95-year-old Patricia spent most of her life longing for love and acceptance but too afraid to reveal her true self.
About the Filmmaker: With 15 years of experience in the media sector, Laura has a passion for storytelling and an eye for human interest narratives. She has held roles in producing and developing, with captains of industry like BBC, Fremantle and Warner, as well as boutique indie production companies who like to shake up the game. Laura enviably fell into Music Documentaries, working with celebrities as well as at live events like The Proms and Glastonbury Festival. Patricia in the Dark is her directorial debut.
