Synopsis: To catch up with work, a burdened blacksmith in rural China decides not to visit his wife, who works in the city all year round, until a visit from a privileged artist alters his outlook on life.
About the Filmmaker: Ke Liu is a Chinese filmmaker based in the U.S. She grew up in a small city in Southern China, witnessing China’s real-life magic realism daily, which has inspired her greatly. Now she is a Directing MFA candidate at Columbia University’s graduate film school. Before narrative filmmaking, Ke worked on experimental documentaries and video installations featured in galleries and museums worldwide.
