Synopsis: Tara is broke. Her fridge is empty – and now with no power. Denied electricity bill support by Social Services, she’s told to simply pick up a free grill offered online as a temporary fix. But how? With no cash, car, or credit card, the quest for a meal will come at a cost. Inspired by true events: a satirical look at how a rich country deals with poverty.
About the Filmmaker: Jade is from Norway, and holds a Master of Fine Arts in Directing from the prestigious American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles. She has written and directed several award winning short films with funding from the Norwegian Film Institute et.al., that have screened at over 70 international film festivals, winning 18 awards including Best Short Film, Best Directing and Best Screenplay. Her short film “Pushing Night Away” also qualified for Oscar consideration and received funding from the Norwegian Film Institute for the Oscar campaign. Currently, Jade is developing her debut feature film with funding from the Norwegian Film Institute’s talent program NEO.
