About the Filmmaker: Following a career in journalism in London, Dympna switched to acting in the late 1990s. As well as performing in various classic and modern plays she created her stand-up comedy character Daisy as a homage to her Northern Irish upbringing. Her first film directing was Paper Lips (2010), a teenage-coming-of-age comedy written by Ali Oxtoby and screened at Hay-on-Wye British Film Festival. In 2015 she wrote, directed and produced the pilot episode of sitcom Off Grid. Keen to develop her craft, Dympna enrolled in Screenwriting and Film Production BA Hons at her local university in Worcester, and graduated in 2019 having made several student shorts including period drama She Wanders.
