Synopsis: Restricted by the world outside, Malaika and her two children seek shelter in a swimming pool, overcoming fear and learning to trust again.
When their secret gets out, Maliaka is left to question their future and whether she can continue making the most improbable place a home.
About the Filmmaker: Alfie is a writer and director from Leeds, UK. His first tv mini-series “PRESENT TENSE” was broadcast on BBC FOUR. He is an alumni of the BFI Film Academy graduating from the National Film and Television School (NFTS) Talent Campus. His documentary short ‘Hanging On’ premiered at Sheffield Doc Fest, TIFF and was longlisted for a BIFA. Masego is a dynamic artist, talented writer and spoken-word artist, performing her work in and around Leeds. She has taken several creative roles with Mafwa Theatre as an Associate Artist, Leeds Playhouse as an Assistant Director on ‘Freedom Project’ in partnership with the Young Vic and Freedom Studios as Associate Director on ‘Aaliyah (after Antigone)’.
