Synopsis: At the crack of dawn in a Kent cafe, a mysterious stranger keeps his eye on an exhausted, worried waitress while he waits to confront her teenage son.
About the Filmmaker: David’s most recent work as director is the BFI network short film ‘Reflection’, starring Ariyon Bakare (His Dark Materials, Life), and he has just returned from directing ‘The Gambler’ in Los Angeles, a short film/taster for a feature starring Mark Rolston (‘The Shawshank Redemption’, ‘Aliens’), and also directed another short, ‘And It Came to Pass in Those Days’, in Chicago in January; both American-based films are currently in post-production.
David was awarded a skillset bursary to study an MA at the London Film School. In his final term Ken Loach agreed to be his mentor and David spent time in the casting process and was with Ken on set for The Angel’s Share, where he worked on the film’s ‘making of’, Distilling the Angel’s Share, as 2nd Unit Director.
