Synopsis: Upon returning to her home town for a funeral, a young woman reconnects with the friends she left behind.
About the Filmmaker: Ella Glendining has written and directed several short films dedicated to presenting an authentic disabled voice.
‘POWER TO THE MINI BEASTS’ won Best Experimental Short at the BFI Future Film Festival 2016. In 2017 she made a film for Channel Four’s Random Acts called ‘Like Sunday’, about the experience of being a wheelchair user on a night out.
In 2018 Ella completed a 20-minute documentary called ‘Born’, commissioned by the National Paralympic Heritage Trust. Since then, Ella has been working on her first feature documentary, ‘Is There Anybody Out There?’, about her own search for others with the same rare disability as her. ‘Is There Anybody Out There?’ is supported by the BFI Doc Society and produced by Janine Marmot.
Ella was named one of Screen International’s Screen Stars of Tomorrow 2020.
