Synopsis: JAM is a story set in 1999 about a young girl, June, exploring adulthood with the added complications of child poverty, identity and self care.
About the Filmmaker: Crystal trained as professional actor and studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She later went on to star in TV shows such as; Mr Selfridge, Endeavour and Poldark. She won the ‘Los Angeles LAFA award in 2017 for Most Inspiring Woman in a Film for her role in ‘Finding Hope’.
In 2020-2021 she helped raise over £15,000 for the charity ‘Mind’ to support suicide prevention. After switching to a career behind the camera, she has since directed a short documentary ‘Motherhood’ and her graduate film ‘JAM’.
Crystal is currently working as a producer for the company called Wild Stag Studios, in Brighton. She recently produced music videos for established artists and a short documentary film for Brighton’s Albion in the Community’s children’s football club.
