Synopsis: A young woman goes to the police to report her husband for domestic abuse, but rather than finding the relief she longs for, she faces a grueling interrogation.
About the Filmmaker: Roxy is a British filmmaker of Iranian-Malaysian-Chinese descent, born and raised in Brent, London. She was recognised as director of the year in It’s Nice That’s Creative Review of 2018, was on the cover of Broadcast Magazine’s 2018 Hot Shots issue, and was chosen for the 11th edition of Film London’s Artists’ Moving Image Network “Selected” exhibition in 2021. Her debut short film LITTLE PYONGYANG (2018) premiered in competition at CPH: Dox Festival, and won Best Documentary at The Smalls Film Festival, Best Director at UnderWire Festival, Best Cinematography at the Social Impact In Media awards.
