Synopsis: In a claustrophobic chamber play, the filmmaker processes his own experiences in a Syrian prison. Sealed off from the outside world for a long time, the prisoners memorize the phone numbers of the other families in order to escape dehumanisation.
About the Filmmaker: DAOOD ALABDULAA was born in 1994 in Syria. He studied Electrical Engineering and directed theater plays in Aleppo. After escaping to Germany in 2014 he continued his studies in Karlsruhe. Since 2020, he has been studying Directing at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF). DRAWING FROM MEMORY (AUS MEINEM LEBEN, 2021) is his first short film.
