Synopsis: This is a story about motherhood and loss, depicted in an abstracted world of childhood memory. My Mother’s Eyes explores the complex, painful process of letting go of those you love most. A daughter thrives under the gentle support of her mother, moving from one developmental milestone to another. Equipped with all the skills and strength to thrive in the world, she eventually leaves her mother’s nest, and returns to find it empty.
About the Director: Jenny Wright is an award-winning animator, illustrator and director. She graduated with a Masters degree in Character Animation from Central Saint Martins: UAL in 2018, where she focused on 2D animation with an emphasis on movement, line and story. Her graduate film, My Mother’s Eyes, won the Best Animated Short Film award at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival. The film has screened in festivals worldwide.
