About the Director:
Dean Puckett has spent years crafting stories, from his adaptation of Dr. Nafeez Mohammed’s book The Crisis of Civilization, through to his three ethnographic documentaries, Grasp the Nettle, Honey at the Top and The AutistiX for The Guardian. In 2015, with backing from Creative England and the British Film Institute, he made the move into fiction with an award winning 1980’s tinged sci-fi comedy short called Circles. Owing to the success of this, he has gone on to develop his next short with Creative England/ BFI; The Sermon, a rural set folk-horror dealing with sexuality faith and oppression shot on 35mm film and is set for release at film festivals in 2018.
