‘House Finch’ follows Penny, a dance teacher for adults with special-needs, and her son, Jamie. The film is an intimate drama about parenthood, family, disability, and the difficulties of letting go.
About the Director: Joseph Johnson is 18 year-old writer/director based in the United Kingdom. Starting young, Joe made his first short film ‘Something Blue’ in 2016. The film went onto screen at festivals around the world, winning awards and being featured at BAFTA and Oscar qualifying events. Joe grew up with a disability, severely affecting his legs. It’s always been important to him that it never gets in the way of the things he wants to achieve. Instead, with his most recent film, ‘House Finch’, he has used his own experience to create a heartfelt and true-to-life depiction of life with a disability.
