Film East, guest curators at this year’s Norwich Film Festival, are inviting you to dress in your campest sparkles and tallest platform boots to celebrate the fabulous queerness of glam rock!
For one night only, Film East, in partnership with Norwich Film Festival, will bring a special double bill screening of Dexter Fletcher’s Rocketman and Todd Haynes’ Velvet Goldmine to this fine city, encouraging you to forget your troubles and sing the night away! Featuring music from Elton John, Brian Eno, Roxy Music and T. Rex, this one-of-a-kind event commiserates the odd-balls, the quirky originals and the nonconforming creatives who challenged social norms and let their individuality shine. With films inspired by the lives of David Bowie and Elton John, this event celebrates queer identity and being confident in who you are, embracing the differences that make us all unique.
Join Film East at The Garage on 13 November at 5:15pm for Rocketman (Singalong) and 7:45pm for Velvet Goldmine. Dress in your best glam-inspired outfits (whether it be from the back of your closet or a charity shop) and celebrate glamorous queer creativity with us!
