Thursday 10th November 2016: Kinky Boots Gala Screening plus Q&A

We are thrilled to be teaming up with the fabulous team at St Mary’s Work’s to be screening a classic British Feature Film. Kinky Boots tells the story of a man who inherits a struggling shoe factory, but salvation arrives when a Soho cabaret singer comes up with a plan for the business to manufacture specialist footwear for drag artists. However, the stunned workforce has to be won over, and the new designs must prove their worth at a high-profile fashion show. Comedy drama, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Joel Edgerton, Nick Frost and Linda Bassett. We are hoping director Julian Jarrold will be joining us for a Q&A.

The Norwich Film Festival are delighted to welcome the incredibly talented Mick Audsley, whose credits include Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Twelve Monkey’s, Everest, Interview with a Vampire and so many more. Mick has taken time out from editing his latest project (Allied which stars Brad Pitt and Directed by Robert Zemeckis) to talk about his career as an editor and working in the film business. This is a must for filmmakers, film lovers and those who just want to learn a little bit more about the world of film.

The Norwich Film Festival are thrilled to be screening this incredible story about Luke, an independent young man with Down’s syndrome who stumbles upon a wild and life changing friendship. This will be the first time this film will be screened in Norwich and a proportion of the tonight’s ticket sales will be given to local charity NANSA. We are also hoping to welcome the director and producer to this screening for a short Q&A

The Norwich Film Festival are delighted to be screening Light Years as part of the festival line up. This story focuses on one hot summer’s day, Rose (newcomer Zamira Fuller) longs to see her mum (Beth Orton) but nobody will take her. Her father (Muhammet Uzuner), struggling to cope, disappears to work, her sister (Sophie Burton) waits to meet a boy on the local golf course and her brother (James Stuckey) is preoccupied at home communing with spirits online. Taking destiny into her own hands she sets off alone deep into England’s forgotten edge lands to reach her. Rose’s odyssey provokes her disconnected, fractured siblings and parents into a poignant reunion to face their challenges together.
LIGHT YEARS is the debut feature from BAFTA award winning director and photographer Esther May Campbell and features the acting debut of Norfolk born acclaimed singer/songwriter Beth Orton alongside Muhammet Uzuner (ONCE UPON A TIME IN ANATOLIA) and a cast of young newcomers. LIGHT YEARS is a poetic and startling story of loss, hope and the deepest of human connections. We are excited to welcome producer Andrew McVicar to a partake in Q&A after this film.
