Date: Friday 28th April 2017
Time: 7pm – 9pm
Venue: The Auditorium, The Forum, Norwich
The Norwich Film Festival are committed to screening some local features throughout the year on the lead up to our 2017 Festival and what an honour it is to start with the brilliant Documentary The Final Reel which explores our love affair with cinema.
This feature length documentary is narrated by the late celebrated actor Sir John Hurt which tells the fascinating story of how cinemas and cinema-going have developed and flourished over the years. The Final Reel features a mix of actuality, interviews and archive material and offers an entertaining overview of the history of cinema-going in Norfolk and a snapshot of cinema-going in England today. It also asks the question; Is this the Final Reel in the story of cinema or just another chapter in its continuing development? We are also pleased to welcome director Jonathan Blagrove to this screening. Run time: 1hr 30mins.
