Official Selection 2013 – One Minute Movie
A man’s internal conflict is literally shaped by his surroundings. The relationship between positive and negative thought is given ironic form through the use of positive and negative space. This man contemplates feelings of paranoia, self loathing, and insecurity with, and in relation to, himself and the outside world.

Director’s Statement
‘After working for five years in the animation industry, I decided it was time to start producing my own short films again. My last project Arcadia was created during my time as a student at RISD. Since then I have worked in various niches of the animation world: TV shows, commercials, games, and stadium graphics. I started working in character animation but branched into motion graphics a few years ago. It was great to break from that world and put energy into something personal and fun.
This particular idea spawned from a simple doodle of a double sided face. I thought it would be cool to see this character speak- to have a conversation with its own negative space. I decided to build a short film around this visual idea. I wanted to set an attainable goal with something I could realistically complete during my free time. It is very important for me to see something through to completion which is very hard to do with a full time job. I hope you enjoy.
