1268 submissions. 132 selected films. 24 nominated films.
This year we smashed our submission records, making it harder than ever to narrow down our Official Selection to a list of nominated films. We thought subdividing our Best Short Film category into Best British Short and Best International Short would have made the process easier for us this year – we were wrong!
Our executive committee discussed the nominations at length, with films being added and removed constantly – it’s never a quick process and there are many films which came close.
In the end, we came to an agreement that the following 24 films deserved to be nominated for our awards. These films will go on to be reviewed by our panel of industry experts, including the likes of Dexter Fletcher and James Marsh. You can read up on our judges here.
The winner of each category will be announced via social media at the end of November, and each winner will receive a certificate, a trophy, various pieces of filmmaking software, and £1000 cash.
We’d like to offer a huge thanks to our award sponsors:
- Arnolds Keys for sponsoring the British Film category,
- University of East Anglia for sponsoring the East Anglian Film category,
- Spire Solicitors for sponsoring the Documentary Film category.
