Director’s Statement
Seeing how this was one of the opportunities to create your own film, I wanted to do it around one of my own characters that is dear to me and that I wanted to build a story around anyways. Knowing that the majority of usable programs, such as Flibook and Flash, contain glitches and possible loss of data, I decided to take this as an opportunity to learn Toon Boom, a program that Sheridan students haven’t really tackled before but is preferred by many major studios.
Layout was one of the trickier aspects of the film, only because it was hard to decide upon the style for it. Once the first finished scene was composed, The background was still lacking something to me, so in eighteen out of the nineteen scenes in my film, I used After Effects puppet tool to animate the bushes in the background. The one minute screening time limit from the school was another challenge that I had to be overcome. Although I personally wanted to have a longer film and a slower pace, I decided to take on the challenge and see if I could express a clean and concise story within the one minute limit. Overall the experience was really educational. Along with learning to be organized and efficient, the film has helped me narrow down what I would like to do after graduation as well as give me the opportunity to create something that I care about.

Director’s Bio
‘When I learned in highschool that I can go and work in animation there was no hesitation in my decision. As a child I was always glued to the TV watching cartoons. In years to come I was enrolled in BAA Animation at Sheridan, learning the principles of animation, teamwork, and making your own personal film. I have interned at Chuck Gammage Studio for two years and have done work for Furry Puppet Studio, Verold Inc, and taught those animation principles I’ve learned at Mississauga Valley School of Arts.
I was born and raised in Serbia until 2003, and since then I have moved and live in Canada.’
