Facts and Statistics
- Over 400 short film submissions were received for our 2016 film festival, with 52 shorts making it into the Official Selection.
- NFF2016 was sponsored by St. Mary's Works, which also served as the venue for the festival's Opening Gala.
- 2016 was the first year which saw the festival taking place in November, which has been maintained as the usual time-slot ever since.
Event Highlights
- The festival opened with a gala screening of KINKY BOOTS, followed by a Q&A with the film's director Julian Jarrold. The event took place at St. Mary's Works - a former shoe factory.
- BAFTA winning editor Mick Audsley (TWELVE MONKEYS, EVEREST) hosted a Q&A session at the UEA.
- A total of six short film screenings took place, with each featuring a selection of films from specific programming strands.
- Two feature film screenings took place at the festival: MY FERAL HEART and LIGHT YEARS. Both were followed by Q&A sessions with the filmmakers.
- The festival closed with a screening of the BAFTA Shorts Tour, followed by a Q&A with filmmakers Caroline Bartlett, Kamila Kristine and Callum Rice.
