Prizes / Awards
There are four competitive categories with prizes for this year’s festival, and they are listed below. As we are primarily a short film festival, please note, all films must be under 30 minutes long. The only exception to this is documentary films, which are allowed to be up to 60 minutes long. Any films longer than these specifications will not be accepted. The four competitive categories* we have this year are:
Short Film – Any fiction film 30 minutes or under. Any genre, any style. (£250 prize)
Animated Film – Any animated fiction film 30 minutes or under. Any genre. (£250 prize)
Documentary Film – Any non-fiction film, 60 minutes or under. (£250 prize)
Student Film – Any film, any genre, any style, made (or predominantly made) by students. (£250 prize)
*If you are unsure which category your film may fall into, or you think it may overlap into more than one, the judging panel will assign it to the most appropriate category that they deem fit.
We would also like to recognise special films that perhaps may not be lucky enough to win a category outright, and so for this reason, we would also like to honour the following:
Best Local Film (from the East Anglia region)
Best British Film
Best International Film
As per usual, we will also be honouring the Best Overall Film. Whoever wins this award will walk away with our top prize of £1000 cash.*
*Prize includes original £250 category award.
Further details of the prizes will be announced here soon. If you want to be the first to hear about our updates, follow us on Twitter or Facebook. You can also join our mailing list.
